Airport Assistance Services

At George Bush Intercontinental, Airport Assist shapes each service around IAH’s layout and peak patterns so you move with purpose, not panic.

Fast Track Assistance

At IAH we shepherd you to the fastest security lanes and—where available—expedited checkpoints, shaving minutes off queues during morning and evening rushes. This is especially useful when Terminals B and C feel crowded during peak domestic waves.

Meet and Greet

A host meets you curbside or inside the arrivals hall, helps with baggage claim and guides you through any CBP steps in Terminal D, then escorts you to ground transport — handy for first-time visitors and tired international arrivals.

Lounge Access

We facilitate the access to on-site lounges (such as the Centurion Lounge in Concourse D and airline clubs) and refer you to the nearest location to relax without having to walk through terminals. The pre-reservation will prevent on-the-spur-of-the-moment surprises on busy days

VIP Airport Assistance

For a more private passage, a dedicated host handles priority check-in, escorts through security lines and routes you to discreet exits — useful when Terminal D’s international flows become heavy.

Family & Special Needs

We help families with strollers and prams, point out nursing and family rooms, and coordinate wheelchair or mobility assistance across long concourses and people movers so transfers feel safer and calmer.

Baggage & Porter Help

A porter meets you at the carousel, handles heavy or oversized luggage, and escorts it to the Skyway/Subway or curbside pickup—particularly useful if you’re changing terminals or carrying sports gear or musical instruments.

Transit Assistance

If you’re connecting at IAH—especially international→domestic via Terminal D—our escort coordinates immigration, baggage recheck and the inter-terminal transfer so you don’t lose time guessing where to go next.

Layover & Connection Tips

Practical, short tips tailored to IAH’s layout and services.

  • Check your terminal early. IAH has five terminals; confirm gates and which people-mover (Skyway/Subway) you’ll need before you land.
  • Allow time for the Skyway/Subway. Moving between terminals typically takes 10–20 minutes end-to-end once you include walking to platforms.
  • Use CBP trusted traveler options. Global Entry or Mobile Passport can drastically speed up immigration at Terminal D—enrollments and guidance are on CBP’s site.
  • Watch peak immigration windows. International arrival clusters (late afternoon/early evening) cause longer CBP lines; arriving outside those windows usually moves faster.
  • Minimum connection times. Goal: 1.5 (domestic-domestic) and 2-3 (cross-terminal transfer) and 3+ (international-domestic) required hours to accommodate immigration and baggage repacking.
  • Book lounges or day rooms make a reservation. Social areas such as the Centurion Lounge are booked early which eliminates last-minute panic.
  • Spa and quick recharge. If you need a reset, Be Relax Spa in Terminal D offers massages and treatments—book ahead during busy travel periods.
  • Stay connected. IAH provides free Wi-Fi with periodic reconnection; if you rely on data, consider a US eSIM before arrival.
  • Baggage recheck rules. After clearing customs at Terminal D, follow airline signage to recheck counters—do not leave the secure area with bags if you have onward travel.
  • Use airline apps for rebooking. Apps usually push rebooking options faster than desks during irregular operations—keep notifications enabled.
  • Expect seasonal weather delays. Gulf storms and winter storms can affect schedules; add buffer time in winter and hurricane season.
  • Family zones & kid-friendly spots. Ask Airport Assist to show you family rooms and quieter gate areas for children and elderly travellers — less noise and easier seating.
  • Short city loop idea for longer layovers. If time allows and you’ve cleared immigration, downtown Houston is reachable by taxi or rental car; always leave ample time to return.
  • Be mindful of construction. Terminal renovations occasionally change check-in or lounge locations; check Fly2Houston notices before travel.
